Restaurant Review: Bataar Mongolian Grill

So Danny and I have both been told we needed to try this place by a few different people. Basically it was like Genghis grill but way better. So over the weekend we decided to trek over to Bedford (not terribly far from us, but not exactly convenient either) and try it.
First thing we noticed was the way they set up the food. At Genghis they put the meat first and the veggies second, but this place was reverse. We both thought that was somewhat clever since meat is more expensive, they were probably hoping people would fill their bowl with lots of veggies and not have much space left for meat. But not us. We noticed it immediately and made sure not to go overboard and I know I for sure had plenty of room for LOTS of shrimp.
Second thing we noticed is that you get a lot more at this place. All your veggies and meat go in the bowl, you pick whatever kind of noodles you want and put them on the side, and pick your rice on the side as well. Then you give them your food to cook and get to pick a soup and some salad.
We did both agree that they should have explained better (possibly with warning labels) how spicey the sauces were...while we both really liked our meals, they were WAY more spicey than we thought they would be. I like spicey things, and I was dying. My eyes were watering, nose was running and my face was pretty red. Danny said it looked like I had started to sweat, but I think he was exaggerating. He did have to take off his baseball hat because he was getting hot.
Anyway, we both finished most of our meals, and thank goodness they also had ice cream so we could cool down! All of that food and variety and the price was significantly cheaper than Genghis.
My overall review is pretty good. I will definitely go back, but will be much more conservative with my seasonings.
