Restaurant review: Abendigo's Grill & Patio

Well let me start by saying this one isn't local. We went on vacation to Broken Bow, Oklahoma, and this restaurant got great reviews, so we tried it out.
The first positive for this place was that it was open, woohoo! It is ridiculous to me that it seems that everywhere around this town is closed a vast majority of the time.
So we get inside, and the place is very impressive (especially for the kinds of places around here). We got pretty excited that we were in for a treat. So we get seated and start looking over the menu...not very many selections and they are very proud of their food.
We started off with a spinach and artichoke dip...I've had better than what they brought us at Chili's.
So then we order. I got the Buffalo Chicken Salad and Danny got Chicken Fried Steak. When I received my salad it smelled wonderful! The Buffalo chicken smell was making my mouth water. And the entire thing was delicious! However, if you are going to charge $13 for a freaking salad I expect it to be MUCH larger than it was! Danny's chicken fried steak was terrible! He said it tasted like a TV dinner and that his vegetables had more flavor than the steak.
And then there were the flies...I am not sure if it was just one that was pestering me, or if there were multiples, but it was very difficult to enjoy the meal with it (or them) constantly buzzing around.
So in the end, we spent $34 and I'm still hungry and very much looking forward to the popcorn we have back at the cabin. I'll give it a 2 out of 5 stars.
